Overview
Language Versions deals with all things Language and Translation related should your site require these features - if so we will have already implemented them and it is within the following sections that you can see them stored in LayerSync:
- Languages
- Translations
Languages
Languages is where all active languages across your site are stored, as stated previously we will have already implemented these languages for you - this section is simply so you can see which languages are currently implemented should you wish to add some more that you do not see in the future.
This page is more as a reference point for you. It displays in list form the ID, Language, its Abbreviation and ISO here.
Translations
Translations is where you can add translations for certain words in your site. An example of when you would use this would be if you have a ‘Login’ button on your website, and you don't wish to create a new layer for every language site just to change this one button, you would add a translation for that button that allows it’s language to be updated for each language version.
It is likely once again that we will have already done this for you, so this section will most likely just be used to house these translations that have been implemented at design stage.
Should you want to change what the example ‘Login’ button says, you would go to this section and update it for each language here.
Each translation is displayed in a list showing ID, Variable and Title - you can edit and delete translations from here as well. To edit a translation you press the Pen Tool and you will see a pop up where you can update the translation for each language.
