We worked with ‘Pipkins’ creator, Nigel Plaskitt on his new CBeebies’ show ‘Monty & Co.’ to provide branding and a fun new website.
Monty & Co. is a musical TV show for pre-schoolers, created by Nigel Plaskitt (creator of ‘Pipkins’, and Paul Jomain (puppet creator for the likes of The Muppets and the PG Tips Monkey). The show is currently airing in the UK, Canada, the USA, Indonesia and Belgium.
We were asked to work with the creators of Monty & Co. on branding for the show, including a logo, full set of brand guidelines, a staging website that helped them get funding, and then later a full website that would include games and activities.
We knew straight away that the main character ‘Monty’ had to feature on the logo, so we set about creating a simple illustration that could be easily translated across digital, print, and merchandise. We used fun, bold, primary colours on the logo that would appeal to children. From this, we designed a set of brand guidelines that demonstrated how the logo can be displayed, in addition to how illustrations of each Monty & Co. character should be used.
With the Monty & Co. target audience being children, we had to make sure the website was bright, colourful, and full of imagery to keep them entertained. With activities, galleries and animations throughout, we’d say we’ve achieved that!
The result is a bold new logo, a comprehensive set of brand guidelines, and a fun website full of activities and information for kids. You can catch Monty & Co. on CBeebies now!
