SendGrid Setup
SendGrid is a cloud-based SMTP provider that allows you to send emails without having to maintain email servers. Email handling in LayerSync is done through SendGrid, for example when a user submits an email form, the email you will receive will be sent through the SendGrid email service. In order for this to work we’re going to require you to set up a free account, authorise the email address that you want to use, and also provide us with your API key.
Step by Step Guide
We recommend using Sendgrid. You get 100 free form submissions a day, you will need to create an account for the website. You can create an account here:
Then create the Sendgrid API key here, which we will add to the site:
Please make sure you have selected "Full Access" when creating this key.
You will also need to create a sender and verify this address, you can create the sender here:
Your sender email will then receive a verification email, please verify this address.
Once the above is completed, we are then able to implement SendGrid to your site. If you have any questions regarding the setup of this key or why it is important this is the clients responsibility please get in touch with us via telephone or our contact form.
